Chris Romero is the director of Texas Quiz Bowl Camp. Chris captained the 2006 ACF National Championship Texas A&M University team. Chris holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction and has extensively studied cognitive learning theories. Chris is the founder and director of Texas Quiz Bowl Alliance and Texas Invitational. Chris has coached high school teams from Seven Lakes and St. John’s to top 10 finishes at HSNCT and coached the Texas squad to the 2011 and 2014 National All-Star Tournament Championship. Chris has been involved with quiz bowl since 1990.

Adam Escandell is a World History teacher and quiz bowl coach at LASA in Austin. Previously Adam founded the quiz bowl program at Harmony Science Academy of North Austin in 2010 and guided his team to the 2015 SSNCT Championship. Adam played quiz bowl for the University of Texas.

Jason Flowers is an AP History teacher and coach at LASA in Austin. Jason has won three quiz bowl national championships and is a former quiz bowl player at LSU.

Steve Fontenot is the managing director of Texas Quiz Bowl during the school year and works in the communications office at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Kevin Marshall is the quiz bowl coach at Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans and a former Jeopardy Champion and quiz bowl player at Tulane University. Kevin oversees the annual production of the Pookie Middle School question set for camp in addition to a variety of other responsibilities.

Joey Ewbank is the assistant director for logistics at Texas Quiz Bowl Camp. Joey is a computer science major at the University of Texas-Austin. He previously served as a counselor at the 2013 camp. His chief responsibilities are statistics and coordination of the large volume of resources that will used during camp.

Dennis Ugolini is the head of the Physics department at Trinity University and Texas Quiz Bowl Chief Moderator. Dennis will teach the physics courses at camp and will serve as one of our tournament directors. Dr. Ugolini is a member of the LIGO Research Consortium.

Paul Stroud is the UIL director, AP Computer Science teacher, and a former Quiz Bowl coach at Seven Lakes High School in Katy. Paul is the coordinator of transportation for our out of state students and facilitates board game activities with our students.
